Andreevski demonstration
Born in 1960 in Skopje, Macedonia, Sergej Andreevski was graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts inSkopje in 1985. He has been awarded scholarships from Galeria di Arte Moderna in Rome (Italy) 1987-88, Nurnberg (Germany) 1991,
Imadate (Japan) 1999, Visiting studies in Arhaus (Denmark) 1994, Paris (France) in 1996, and Wilmington (USA) in 1998. In 2006
he was part of an exhibition of 38 work s on paper by 38 Asolare Fellows, American and Macedonian, organized by the City of Skopje,
Macedonia in collaboration with Art Point Gumno and Asolare Fine Arts Foundation, exhibited at the Center for Culture and Information
in Skopje. Sergej Andreevski has had 41 solo exhibitions and over 300 group exhibitions around the world, and has been
awarded with 8 national awards.
According to art critic Zlatko Teodosievski “Sergej’s Art is probably the best example of postexpressionism
in the region at the end of the 20th century. Originating from Macedonia as the very crossroads of passionate extremes, utmost
contrasts and often paradoxical (mis)understandings, his art follows the logic of the native milieu. Therefore it pours out
straight from the very genes – unavoidable and untamable, explosively unrestrainable and furious.”
